An experienced craftsman

Jeff Niess learned the trade in Eastern Pennsylvania before moving to Maine about six years ago. Before deciding to specialize in tile setting, Jeff worked as a home building and renovation generalist. The culmination of these learned skills leads to a deep understanding of the process, proper execution, and a polished finished project for every customer.

Niess Tile works with homeowners and general contractors to install tile in kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere else in the home. Niess Tile is a trusted trade partner of Northridge Construction and performs standalone renovation and new construction projects directly with homeowners across Central and Midcoast Maine.

Jeff is a great young man very talented and very passionate about his work. I recommend him for any job, he is on time, does not cut corners and is honest with a great attitude. I have him doing more work at my home and very trust worthy. My showers came out amazing. Thank you Jeff for being such a great friend and I'm sure we will have a wonderful home when you get done.

So my wife and I currently renovated the kitchen. When it came to the backsplash along the counters we could not picture a design that would fit the new kitchen. We spoke with Jeff and he quickly met to share his ideas and possible routes we could take with the backsplash. He shared ideas and my wife and I selected one. The outcome was magnificent. His work is clean and professional. My wife and I highly recommend his service!

Jeff came the following day after I called to look at our project & we had a quote that evening. And, he completed our project the following week! His 5☆☆☆☆☆ ratings were why we called him & we weren't disappointed! His attention to detail is "spot on"!

Jeff is a professional - he's quick, efficient and a pleasure to work with.

Common Questions

What areas do you serve? +

Central and Midcoast Maine. I typically serve within 1 hour of Dixmont but have travelled further if my schedule permits.

Do you supply the tile, or do I? +

We'll do it either way, but the customer will select the tile. Twin City Tile in Brewer, ME has a nice showroom with many choices.

How far in advance should I book? +

Two months is a typical lead time for most projects but feel free to contact me about your project for the most up to date lead time.

Do you work directly with homeowners, or only through contractors? +

Most often I work directly with homeowners to complete their projects. Niess Tile is also a trusted trade partner with Northridge Construction LLC and other general contractors in Central/Midcoast Maine.

How can I get an estimate for my project? +

If you send me a few pictures, I can provide estimates remotely for smaller projects. When it comes to larger or more complex projects, I will make a site visit to go over the specifics of the project with the customer so I can provide an accurate estimate.

Do you install heated tile floors? +

Yes I do! It adds some extra time to the installation but it's well worth it.

Do you take on repair work and regrout existing tile? +

Yes to both, but it depends on the integrity of the original installation and substrate if it would be worth repairing/regrouting.
